Deep random clunk in rear
Recently, after an icy storm, I heard a clattering in the back of my car which felt like something dislodged – like ice maybe and clattered along the undercarriage, or something came loose… I stopped the car but there was nothing to see. Nothing again after that, but now I have a random occasional deep clunking sound coming from the rear end of my car. What could it be?
Is there any certain situation that provokes the clattering? Like hitting bumps, hearing something similar to sliding around in your trunk on turns? If it happens on bumps it could be a suspension related component.
