Fifth Volvo
Hello folks.
After perusing as a guest for quite some time, I've finally joined this fine venue. A couple of years ago I was somewhat active on the TurboBricks forum and though there are indeed some very knowledgeable contributors - there are also many prone to obnoxious and sometimes, downright redundant sarcasm. Time and place for everything I suppose. It just grew old.
But... I digress;
There are actually 5 volvos in our household. An '86 745, '88 765, two '94 940's one being a turbo, '96 850 turbo wagon and a newly acquired '93 245. We're planning on selling off one of them soon, hence the screen name.
Anyhow, I thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Joe. I was a principle in an high end (BMW, MBZ, Porsche) maintenance facility and even though we weren't a Volvo specific shop, we did indeed tend to the one's which quite a few of our clientele owned. Over the years I became rather enamoured with the engineering of the marque and was hooked on their safety, overall performance and robust build quality.
Forums such as these are priceless. The knowledge gleaned from those who have tackled challenging problems, subsequently willing to share their experiences is truly a treasure.
Looking forward to participating.
Regards,
Joe
