First time Volvo-er!
What's up guys? I don't have too much time, but I just wanted to pop my head into this forum because monday I bought my first Volvo!
I am now a proud owner of a 1997 850 GLT Sedan turbo. I have no clue how many miles are on it because the odo went out in 2004, but says 74K so I'm guessing 160-170?
Featurewise, this car is A STEAL. heated power leather, turbo, sunroof, dual climate, working a/c.. I paid 1,500 for it, because the windows, radio, sunroof, heated seats, and the ignition itself was dead.. I did a little googling and found a guy on craiglist who sold me a set of 3 "J" relays for 20 bucks and everything works on it again! But the dealer came down 1,000 dollars because of what was initially wrong; neither of us knew the fix was that easy.
I was surprised at the simple fix to get everything going. But what really sold me on the car was a sticker that said the timing belt was changed in June of last year. That REALLY made my day, as I've already cracked a piston in the past because of a busted belt (Pontiac.)
I'll post pics of the car soon, but I just wanted to say hi!

Still in love with my car despite a small scare... Had the turbo cooler hose split on me saturday night and had to tow the car back because coolant was running like a faucet. I couldn't get the actual volvo hose (3/8 -->5/8 with a 90* bend) so I had to rig something up just to make it work, and just used a 1/2" hose on both ends. Would you recommend me still getting the OEM hose just so I can have a factory fit or can I keep my macgyver hose on since there is no leakage under pressure? fitting the 1/2 on a 3/8 bit was tough, but I used 2 clamps to hold it down and so far it's holding up strong.
