First-time Volvo owner
Well, after only a small amount of convincing from my fiance and the demise of my previous vehicle I am now the driver of a 2004 Volvo V70R.
I run a non-profit animal rescue and needed something that had a reasonable amount of cargo space for schlepping critters back and forth, as well as handling the storage capacity for our other recreational activities like hiking, kayaking, and camping. After having dealt with several jalopies over the last few years I decided that it was about time to get something a little classier... while still fitting within my budget. Having driven my fiance's S40 T5 sedan, I decided that a used Volvo would be a good choice.
A good friend of ours helped me find this car, and after putting a lot of faith into having him buy it for me without ever test driving it I must say I'm VERY happy with it. LOVING the horse power, the comfortable luxuries inside, and the overall body design (it's a wagon that doesn't look too much like something grandma would drive, which also appeals to me)
I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I own this car and make it my own. We're getting it's 120K mile service done this week (along with timing belt) and several other maintenance things (brakes, suspension, alignment) to get it in tip-top shape from the start (eh, it's a used car... to be expected). I look forward to learning from those of you with advice and experience with these cars.
