First time Volvo owner
I've had numerous Porsche's and BMW's as well as American cars and trucks over the last almost 50 years this is my first Volvo. I recently bought a 2000 V70xc SE AWD with 155,000 miles. It was a company car for an energy company so has had routine work done on a regular basis. The body is in remarkable condition for its age. It does have a replacement engine from a donor car. I've had some minor work done so it's reliable for a winter driver for my wife. Timing belt and water pump and brakes and rotors as preventative measures. As i read this forum I am discovering how quirky these cars can be. I have a great indy mechanic who does my BMW work and has experience with these as well. Hope I'm not in over my pocketbook.
I am impressed at some of the very solid features and shocked at how cheap somethings are put together. I'm looking forward to being a member of this community.

Thanks for the welcome. It's running so smoothly. No way to tell its got 155K on the clock. I feel very secure taking my 4yr old granddaughter to preschool every day in it. The family is actually fighting over who gets to drive it. It's not going to replace my M3 but this is a winter car though unlike the M...
I've got a new set of Nokians on it for our inevitable snow here in Michigan. Should be amazing if its anything like my 325XI.
No idea really what killed the original motor. The story is engine was "blown" whatever that could mean... The replacement is great so far. Would be really nice if I had its history, but that's not available.
