First Volvo
Hi everyone!
I just picked up my first volvo for a daily driver/winter beater. It's a 1996 850 wagon GLT. Automatic, no boost, boring volvo. It has around 150k miles on it, clean on the outside and spotless on the inside. It comes equipped with a binder full of service records. My daily driver is a 2014 subaru Brz and my toy is a 1990 Mazda miata.
I haven't picked it up yet (I didn't bring an additional driver with me today when I went to look at it) but from what I can tell, it needs a few little things. I commute 50 miles each way to work so I'm going to be relying on this car to get me there...
Front struts are shot and the rubber bushing/top hats are as well, leaving me with a "clunk" during cornering.
Also, the PVC system needs a cleanup/replacement. Now, I know I need to replace it, but in the meantime, will pulling the dipstick up help alleviate some pressure until I'm able to get in there and replace everything?
Other than that the car is great, fresh rubber all around, and for the low price of $800 dollars!
