G'day!

G'day!
Hi all,
After many years of talking myself out of owning a Volvo, I have finally bought an 89 740 Turbo wagon. Kind of hard to find here in Australia in a Turbo. I am off to Adelaide to pick it up tomorrow, then a 12 hour drive home! Got it for a very good price and the inspection report was good, so why not I say.
Anyway, the plan is to do some mild suspension work (swaybars, new bushes, nice shocks, nice tyres) mild engine work (will be happy with high 14 second quarters, so exhaust etc) and some appearance work (tinted windows are mandatory down here in Australia, especially if you are of european descent!). The idea is a nice fun to drive car that is still easy to live with day to day, and for it to be a bit of a sleeper!
There will be the usual thorough tune up/major service every car I own getstoo. I live just outside of Canberra Australia, and we live on 25 acres, so I wanted a wagon for it's versatility.
Some photos:
Regards, Andrew.

RE: G'day!
Hello mate,
Greetings from Narita, Japan.
Welcome to the forum, I hope you find it useful & enjoyable in maintaining your 740 turbo, which is very nice looking.
Please be sure to post technical questions & answers in the 740 forum to receive most accurate replies. I myself am an 850 driver (although I currently do not even have a tricycle) and am not privy to the 740 series. If you cannot receive good results in the 740 forum, try "General Volvo Chat", assome good members often visit there (and "Off Topics" for some good laughs).
Best of luck to you & happy holidays.
Cheers,
JPN
