From germany with volkswagen diesel
Hello, i am the most recent owner of a Volvo 244DL with that volkswagen engine (D24) inside. Funny enough, i bought that car because the upcoming diesel denial policy occuring in germany. And since the car was built in 1984 and is over 30 years old i got the "historic valueable vehicle" numberplate which pretty much allows me to drive anywhere i want.
I like the car, the previous owners took good care. I like the boxy bodyshape and i plan to use it as my summer car. It drives, the engine sounds good and the vehicle service history is quite complete. And people are somewhat nicer to me now too xD

4speed manual + overdrive -> m46 gearbox from what i know
4 door sedan
Pruduction year 1984
However, the car has issues and i hope you guys can help me out. I don't know a lot of it yet. I found some useful links on the internet, but nothing really helped me, because i still have to get familiar with the car. I'm gonna mention my issues in another theard here on the forums. I hope that car will last for long and i can enjoy it.

Willkommen! We don't see too many of those diesel powered 240's over here, especially sedans!
I only have experience with one VW diesel, a 1979 Rabbit ..with a 5 speed. Great car until unfortunately
the engine blew.. so word to the wise .. watch the cooling system!
