Greeting from a Newguy but not a Volvo Newbie
After being without a Volvo for 5 years we have purchased a 1999 Volvo S70 in very good condition with 101,000 miles on it. I have owned three Volvo's in the past, my last one being a 1994 745 turbo. I have purchase the latest one as a second vehicle for my wife and son. My wife and I love Volvo's but can't justify a Volvo class 7 660 or 670 HDT tractor yet to pull our 34ft fifthwheel so we have a Ford F350 dually.
It was so enjoyable getting back into the Volvo today for the test drive. It felt just like putting on a comfortable old leather jacket. The car has had a timing belt at 75,000 miles and just had new tie-rods installed beside the normal tires and brakes. Everything works and there are no warning lights on the dash at all.
Needs a set of tires as he did the re-alignment after installing the tie-rods but did not replace the damaged tires. Car feels sold and tight over roken pavement and undulations in the road surface. No sign of leaks, carpets dry and leather interior in excellent condition.
Poorly repaired parking lot ding on passengers front fender will need proper bumping and painting but not a deal breaker. Can't wait to get it home Tuesday and start going over it with a fine tooth comb.
Hope I don't have to many reason to post for advice and help, but I look forward to learning all I can about the S70 model.
