I just joined as a new member and wanted to say hi.

Two years ago this week I bought a like-new 2011 V50 T5 with 42k on it. Had to search quite a while to find one. I just love the C30's and V50's. I feel these models were one of Volvo's design high water marks, right up there with the 1800ES.

It's great to be back in the Volvo family again. My very first car was a 1975 245 that I saved up for and bought for myself in 1981. I loved that car and thought it was the coolest thing, even if everyone around me in the suburban milieu I grew up in thought it was the weirdest choice imaginable...."You wanted this boxy wagon!?". They were all driving Camaros, Firebirds and other sporty American models. Eventually friends realized that by my 245's making not the slightest effort to register as cool or sexy it somehow established a "cool" factor all its own. There's no discounting brilliant design.

That white wagon with royal blue interior was "Sven". This new one is "Signe". Curious that all my cars in between, including a couple of wonderful Saabs never inspired names?

 

Greetings! My Vo's have all had names currently driving Bitsy, Vivian, and Inga. One of my Saabs was named Baab the disco Saab and the other was mostly known as, "why can't you just run".
