Default Greetings from south Florida

For the time being because I change cars like underwear lol I am driving a 1998 V70 wagon GLT and for the most part I am pleased with it that it may be a keeper for a little bit. My brother has a small dealer lot where he sells cars. I saw this wagon and I am a sucker for wagons could not resist it sold what I was driving to drive this. Has 204,XXX on her, but was a one owner vehicle from what we saw on the title. What we got for it was a steal. The exterior and interior is very clean for the age. Its white with tan leather interior. I am surprised how the interior is intact. I have known to believe that Volvo owners take care of their cars much like Subaru owners. I was going to build up a 240sx that I had, but really liked the simplicity of this Volvo. My uncle fews years back opened my eyes on these cars because he sells cars aswell and used to buy them alot. I never had bad opinons of Volvos being 35 years old I have driven man different cars and this is my first Volvo. I am a parts consultant at a Cadillac dealer and used to sell parts for SAAB. I guess Volvo is the better car maker then SAAB since they went to hell.

Well thats all for now the car is giving me a p0448 and p0442 code air pump system fault code on the Autel scan-tool we have here at the dealer (great scan tool) I have access to all-data, but see there are several things to do to pin point the problem why the codes come up. I tightened the gas cap, but code still comes up. Well I could always call volvo and get a new cap for starters, but I would like to know if this a issue that some have had and what parts were changed to fix the problem. If the parts that were changed are similar to the what the code gives.

HI AND welcome to the forum.

The code can also be triggered to a vacuum leak. Not 100% sure but there may be a valve in line and then there is the pump.

thanks for the info...I will be checking all that out as I go. So with the transmission its a drain and fill. I have been lucky with my old 2001 Hyundai Sonata and 96 Integra transmissions doing the drain and fill. I always here that its risky with changing the fluid.
