Greetings, Volvisti
Josh Painter here from Springfield, MO. Not currently owning a Volvo, but hoping to change that. I'm negotiating to purchase a '91 V70 T5. It's a nice example in silver with only 92K on the clock. It has leather seating, heated mirrors, geartronic, etc. Seller has it priced over $1K below N.A.D.A. book value. Since I work 10-hours days Mon-Thur, I haven't even seen the car yet.If seller still has it Friday, I will gohave a look and a test drive.
I've owned several Volvos in the past, including:
1985 (240) Turbo
1984 760 GLE Turbodiesel
1981 245
1974 164E
1966 122S
I have a good friend who has an auto repair shop in Northwest Arkansas, where I used to live when I owned the four most recent of the cars in that list. He treated me well, selling me parts at his cost + freight and charging me flat-rate for his labor. That's a huge consideration for me, as I don't think I could afford to maintain a T5 otherwise.
I'm a bit wary of the Greartronic box, as I've heard some scary stories from hapless owners on other forums. But manual gearbox equipped Volvos are getting difficult to find on the market these days.
Hopefully, I'll be a Volvo guyagain in about a week's time. Looking forward to the discussion here.
Regards,
- JP

Hello JP from JPN.
Welcome to the forum, I hope you find it helpful.
Now, is it '91 V70? I believe the V70 came out in 1998, so I assume it was a typo. I tried to find recall info for you but was not sure which year's model you're looking for. In case you'd like to do a research, here's a source:
