Default Greetings Y'all!

Just had my much loved Cadillac totaled. I got a very, very good deal on a '99 C70 convertible, so here I am. Looking forward to pestering the members with more experience with these cars as I work out a variety of bugs.

I'll post some decent pics when it isn't raining.

Welcome to the forum. I bet you will love the C70 more then the Cadillac once you have it for a while. Looking forward to the pictures.

Spent today clearing up some little stuff with it. Replaced two dead coil packs, unclogged convertible boot drains, repaired hood latch, etc...
New front wheel bearings get to wait until next week, as does installing a stereo in the gaping hole in the dash.

Here are a couple of pics.

nice c70, oddly familiar looking body style lol. good luck on finding the harness if you have the stock amp installed and want to still use it(if you do find 1 let me know where so i can order 1)i was planning on putting 1 of several aftermarket stereos i have sitting around in mine since the stereo was locked up when i bought my car, but after having no luck finding 1 that would accommodate the stock amp i went through the headache of trying 4 different codes before i could get mine to unlock.
you are gonna want an amp or a good high power stereo to power the 8 speakers in the car if you have the same speaker setup i do
oh and i swear i haven't seen a single picture on this site of a c70 from our year with the front tow hook cover on, i'm begining to wonder if it even had 1

I have a harness that would not work for my radio...the pic is the back of mine.....If you can take yours out and look...the Harness I have has two LARGE connectors with an RCA in that connects from the new RADIO...I have the Pioneer X910BT NAV and it's very easy to do...Let me know if you want the details on how.....if you need this connector let me know...$15 shipped!!

The wiring coming out of the hole in the dash looks very, very jerry-rigged. I don't know what I've got and what I don't right now. Probably taking it to Big South Customz and let the professionals deal with it. If anyone is in East TN---these guys are good.

Ok cool! They haVE A direct connect harness for that year....however if they don't, most likely they will splice into the amp feed...just be prepared that might cost....if you get a Nav system the VSS wire should be yellow and black on the smaller (mid size) harness...I had mine done in 30 min top!! I have Premium sound and a mid speaker on top of the dash. I placed the Attenane for the Sat and Nav thru that. Make sure you post when done...and oh get a Viper alarm system...that's my next Mod in 2 weeks!!!

The car has a factory alarm system, not bothering with aftermarket. This is a used car I didn't pay all that much for and we have secure parking at work.

I just got a basic CD deck. Just need something that I can run my ipod transmitter through.

Default Volvo S80 SE D5 2003 Model

Hi everyone.
I have bought a used volvo S80, 62k miles.
Lovely machine, 1 owner.
I have a problem that the siren doesn't go off and the alarm LED doesn't flash on the dash.
Have read that I should replace the alarm module.
Not an issue, but would appreciate some feedback on whether this is the right way to go.
Thanks.
