Default hello!

hey everyone, my name is Quentin, and I live in Western British Columbia Canada, I am buying what I believe is an 83? 240 diesel sedan with an automatic. I just joined because I heard these engines are really poor, but I dont want to doubt Volvos, I am still going to get it I think, its only $300 I cant lose! but if anyone happens to know who I should ask, or if anyone has any ideas on these engines, it would be helpful, other than that, glad to be here! please tell me where to post these kinds of questions so Im not clogging up the wrong forum page thanks!

Welcome - i'm new to the forums as well. Sounds like a sweet little car for the price! I don't know much about the engines, but i bet there are some members on here that can help you out. I've found the forum thus far to be very helpful.

Welcome. Don't know anything about that particular engine. If it is weak, there are plenty of people here who can help you pep it up.

Welcome to the forum and I hope you can find the answers you seek.

Post technical questions in the vehicle-specific forum for the best results. In your case it would be the 240 forum.

I'm not sure if the 240 came with interference engine. If that's the case, make sure that the timing belt & its pulleys & tensioner have been replaced within the last 60,000 miles or 5 years.

Best of luck,

JPN
