Default Hello all, Volvo owner n proud of it

Hi all, I am new to the forum. For I am a proud owner of a 1997 Volvo 850 GLT sedan. I bought it at an auction in DC in Feb 2009, and so far minus a timming belt and related/recomended parts she has been very good to me. I finally gave up on American cars. Way too much problems specially with the older 2nd hand ones.

After all, Volvo is supposed to be one of the safest problem free cars out here. Although I dunno regarding the 2000 and up line built by Ford. Like Ford's "Fixed Or Repair Daily" slogan, I noticed most 2000 plus vehicles for sale in craigslist and other websites having a growing number of same "blown head gasket" or blown transmission" problems.

So I have to say I am a proud owner of an "original" Volvo pre-2000. :-)

1997 Volvo 850 GLT "Grand Lux Touring"
Engine: 2.4L 5cyl Turbo
153596 miles and counting strong!

Honestly you want to be 98 and older to avoid a lot of the headaches.... I too have a 97 850 and love it. I have had it 16 months and has been good to me! Welcome to the Forum.........

IF you keep up with maintenance it will be. Don't fall behind, and if you keep up with her, the car will outlast you most likely.
