Hi Liam,

Welcome to the forum, I wish you find it helpful & enjoyable.

When you have technical questions, be sure to post them in the 240 forum. Also, before posting a question, please do a bit of in-forum research, as you can often find answers to your question via search.

Good luck,

JPN

PaulDD, you need to post in the 240 section to elicit a greater number of responses.

I may be new to this forum, and since all the good Volvo mechanics I know are dead or in jail- Yes sir I am desperate. but I'm not new to the Volvo- I've just never had a automatic tranny go bad on me- do I ajdust the bands? Fluid flush? Or can they even be fixed at all. It is a really nice 1986 Volvo 240 Gl Sedan. I totalled my 1992 240 Wagon during a storm last week. I had just done the front brake pads and changed the oil. So I am attemting to get my back up machine up and running- any help would be greatly appreciated-Cheers- PaulDD
