hello everyone, greetings from Atlanta
I'm flailing around trying to solve my A/C problems, and stumbled upon this board. Being a female, and basically clueless about all things auto related, please you all, be gentle with me.
I inherited my 95 850 GLT from a dog walking client who was buying a Prius. I'm in love with it, i can well understand peoples' passion about the vehicles. I hope to baby mine along and keep it running for a long time to come.

Welcome to the Forum. I loved my 95 855 T5 and it is definitely one of my all time favorite cars that I have owned. That is cool that you got yours for nothing but the AC not working well is no fun this time of year. What exactly is going on with it?
Greetings! Former Atlanta guy myself. First thing to do is have it checked for leaks. You may just need to replace R-134a that's leaked out. I owned a (shudder) Toyota Camry* for 10 long months that slowly lost AC refrigerant. I ultimately wound up just feeding it an $9 can of the stuff every two months or so rather than get into expensive AC repairs.

I found a great place last Saturday, just luck that I stopped in there. it is at the corner of Briarcliff Road and Clairmont Road, and as soon as I find the receipt I'll post that actual name and address of the shop. they've been there for ever, and now I know why. Honest and nice and they specialize in volvos. It was the line clogged up, which is what my friend had thought it was. i watched them put it up on the lift and blow out the line and I swear it looked like at least 5 gallons of water came rushing out. it cost me $40.00, it took less than an hour, and now I have AC, so I'm a very happy girl, and for today all is right with the world. Thanks guys for your suggestions, I'm clueless about cars. And like I said, as soon as I find my receipt I'll definitely post the name and actual address of the shop so other people in Atlanta will know that these guys rock!!!
I did A/C when I apprenticed as a mechanic. When you find a good A/C place, stick with it. R-12 and R-134a are both extremely hazardous, You don't want a newb toying around with it.
