Default Hello from Germany

Hey there!
My name is Alex, I'm 35, and at first I'm sorry for my bad English!
Back then in school we had a lack of teachers, and after that the next teacher preferred to tell us how to write business letters instead of heaving a proper conversation. Yeah... So I'm sorry if I'll write some gibberish.

I'm working as a railroad technician for over ten years now, and I live in an area called "Westerwald". Theres a old marching song about my area every German knows
- haha - but still I'm here like in the middle of nowhere. If you draw a line from Cologne to Frankfurt/M then I'm kinda in the middle.

The love to swedish cars began in my youth... My parents had lots of Saab Turbo's (99, 901, and 9000 Aero), so my first car was also a Saab 9000. After a lot of years and other cars - usually Mercedes and Volvo - now I own a XC90 MY07 as a D5244T4.

I bought the car in July 2020 from its first owner with ~190,000kms. It was maintained by Volvo until 150,000kms and the last service at 180,000km did a free workshop. In 2012 it got a replacement engine from Volvo, but there's no information why.

Still there was a lot to do, so here's what I've repaird and modified during the time I have it:e
- replaced valve body of the transmission
- changed the haldex pump to a VW pump because the old pump was faulty, also replaced filter (twice), pressure sensor and of course the oil
- changed every other oil
- repaired the injector connectors
- replaced brake discs and pads
- replaced brake hoses front axle
- repaired the diesel heater (nozzle of the pressure regulator was clogged with dirt, overtemperature switch was faulty)
- changed tie rods (right word?) front axle
- changed the engine support front (rear and right one I'll do together with the timing belt soon)
- changed strut bar supports to PU
- changed the small bearing of the torque rod to PU
- lubed the front and rear cardan joints
- removed like 10 litres of Water because the drain below the windscreen was clogged undetected until the water was so high that the carpets went wet on the top.
- and I guess some other trivialities I forgot

In the meanwhile I added the original auxiliary lights switch together with two H3/55W high beams, a (cheap) steel skid plate, an in-line fuel filter for the auxiliary heater and in-line oil filters for transmission and power steering. The D5 got the EGR software "optimized" *cough, cough* Better EGR rates, and "EGR off" as soon as the coolant reaches the operating temperature.

And as I'm a little oil-crazy (like the guys from BITOG there's also an oil-forum in Germany), here's what I use as oils, lubes, etc.:
Engine: Currently: Mannol TS-7 10W-40 + Archoil AR9100 - Coming next: RZ Oil - 4.0l RZ800 0W-30 + 2.0l RZ800 0W-40 + 0.2l Archoil AR9200v2
Transmission: Currently: Pemco iMatic 450 + Lubegard Platinum - Coming next: ROWE ATF9000
Angular Gear: Motul Motylgear 75W-90
Haldex: Ravenol AWD-H
Differential Gear: Fuchs Titan Sintopoid FE 75W-85 + Archoil AR9100
Power Steering: Ravenol SSH
Fuel: Standard Diesel + a 50:50 mixture of "2EHN" + Mannol 9930 Diesel Ester added 1:1000 to the fuel

So... Here are some photos...

So... Have a nice day!

Lots of greetings from Germany,
Alex
