I have a 2012 Volvo S60 T5 the mechanic is telling me there is a missfirem in cylinder 2 and then he said crankshaft missalined from the ob tester.but tells me it's fine to drive.does anyone know what that code means and if it's dangerous? Please I posted the story in the S60 section but got no reply?? Help please

assume you got a check engine code displayed telling you about the crank position - or just the misfire. The crankcase misaligned means the crankcase and the valves are not sync'd up properly (could be due to a problem with the variable valve timing mechanism) or could be due to the crank or cam position sensors acting up. If the timing were so far off as to damage the engine, you'd run really rough and the car's computer would likely go into limp mode. If its just a misfire code then I'd be inclinded to check the coil or the plug. How many miles on your car?

47000 on the 2nd engine and thank you for responding.the first code was miss fire in cylinder#2 then the missalined crancshaft code.this after they put a new alternator and belt in the car.and it took the shop 4 different alternators to find the right one not a dealer shop.and cost me 1k when I pick up the car the check engine light was still on.i tell the ***** mechanic he plugs inn the tester and both these codes come up.the he tells me don't worry bring it back Tuesday. This is the shop that put in the second engine.
