I'm a new member looking for a 2016 XC90. I submitted a post yesterday in the XC90 subforum that never got approved, and I can't find admin contact info - so I'm reposting here. Apologies if it's in the wrong place.
Ended up walking away from buying the car shown below due to the frame rust. It was a 2016 XC90 Inscription that had every option and 71k miles. The prior owner lived in Syracuse, NY so it saw rough winters, but this condition looks brutal to me. Is this type of rust common on these or was I right to walk away? Also, should I keep away from the air suspension? Thanks!
That does look terrible! I haven't made a survey, but I suspect they are reasonably corrosion resistant. Syracuse is globally extreme in terms of snow removal. You can tell that is salt damage. i guess you get some share of it there in PA.
