Smile Hello! Thinking about buying a Volvo...

Hello from the south!

My first Volvo was a 1970s 240DL I bought some years back from a neighbor. I am looking into getting a much newer Volvo that will also fit my family. I am looking at this one tomorrow and have no idea what I should ask or look for or even if that is a good price for one:

2004 Volvo XC90 2.5 T6 W/3rd Row and Navigation

Are the XC90's any good? I'd like this vehicle to last me through grad school (currently a sopohmore undergrad).

Any advice would be most welcomed! I'd ask my father, but he is a stubborn Ford man and doesn't get my love for this brand.

Thanks!!

Most like them but I have heard a few complaints about the transmissions. Find out what motor it has, that may make a difference about the tranny.

Then you can go to New Cars, Used Cars, Car Reviews | Cars.com and read user reviews. There is a lot of crying on there so try to read between the lines.

I have an S60 Volvo so I can't help you with the model you are looking to get but I can tell you that the navigation feature is the worst I've ever have. I've stopped using it and now only use my Iphone GPS. The Volvo navigation has lead me on wild goose chases multiple times. We are not talking about getting you to a place the long way. I'm talking about making you get off the highway, go all over back roads to get back on the highway when there weren't any traffic issues. It just is not up to date and Volvo is not putting in their energy into it. It's too bad. I love the car but it will make me think twice about getting another one.

LOL, I was driving a MB S550 a few months ago that was trying to do me like that. I don't think the nav was ever properly activated. It likely needs a software update. If you are getting better directions from an iPhone, that nav is really messed up.
