Default Help!

Been a few years since I was on here. In the past I had a 244, a 960 an S80, 1999 V70, a 2004 V70 and after a few years have gone by I have purchased another V70, (2001) 2.4, litre petrol 198000 on the clock.
The car has had the same owner from new until September 2019, The car was regularly serviced, any problem was quickly cured (by the look of all the receipts and work orders I received with the car), and was looked after by a Volvo dealership. It was then given/purchased by a friend of the family and left sorned on his drive until I purchased her last month.
I can't fathom out the problems she has though.
(Problem 1)
Keeps missing while sitting at around 30mph, I've put new plugs in, checked the coil packs by starting the car up and removing the connector to each coil pack, all seem to be working fine. I've filled up the petrol tank added injector cleaner and driven around until the tank is back down to quarter full, but it still has the same problem.
(Problem 2)
Thumping from underneath of the car. I have had the car in for an MOT and asked the inspector to take special note of anything that might be causing these thumps.
To my surprise, the car passed it's MOT and the inspector said everything was as it should be, nothing worn or loose.
None of my previous V70's have had either of these problems.
Any advice will be appreciated
Thanks
Jody

my thoughts: 1) misses at 30 mph - have any of these thrown a code? Not sure if checking the coil packs by disconnecting really tells you much other than the pack is capable of producing spark - which may not be hot enough under load (ie low rpm power ). Did you measure fuel pressure? These cars are the first of drive by wire and are prone to issues with the ETM (electronic throttle mechanism) and takes reading from a pedal position sensor so you may want to read up on ETM fail symptoms). Have you measured fuel trim in real time? you may have a minor vacuum or exhaust leak that is causing a lean condition that the O2 sensors can't quite adjust for - so you may need to check/test for intake or exhaust leaks. If the car has 100K+ miles and the coils look like original, you may just want to baseline the car and replace them all (or buy one new one and swap in to see if replacing any fixes the issue).
2) thumps can be one of several things - strut mounts/spring seats, sway bar end links, sway bar bushings, chassis bushings, control arm bushings/delta link (rear) - particularly if the steering feels out of alignment from time to time. If the thumping comes/goes with throttle on/off, add motor mounts/torque rods to the inspect list.

Thanks for the assist.
Solved the knocking
It was the the near side front strut top, how that made it past 2 different MOT inspectors I don't know.
I have ordered a coil pack to see if 1 of the 5 coil pack has an intermittent problem.
If I drive the car hard in one gear, it really moves, but as soon as I go up a gear, it's holding back, as if there's a lack of fuel, then a couple of seconds later the car will pick up again
It reminds me of the my 1st Volvo, the 244. But with that it was a fuel blockage and the carburetors weren't filling for a couple of seconds.
he car is in need of a new clutch as well, but that will need to wait til I see if I can sort out this running problem 1st.
Thanks again
