Default Hey Everyone

I had tried registering for this forum in December as mel13fdip but my account was not activated so I re-registered tonight. I purchased a 2001 Volvo S40 in December from the original owner at 62k miles. I had a 1993 Buick Century with 40k miles and decided it was time to get something newer and with better gas mileage, so far I am enjoying my Volvo and think I made the right decision. I also have a 2002 Saturn SL2 with 66k miles, that I switch with the Volvo to drive back and forth with to college (170 mile round trip 3X week) with. Are there any major problems with these cars and what preventative maintenance should I consider since I am driving the car long distance frequently?
I have learned a lot through this site over the last few months and look forward to interacting with the other members.
Thanks,
Mel

Welcome aboard.
I used to own one of those. They can be reall picky sometimes. Read through the S40 section. Long distances are much better than short ones. Just be sure to stick to the recommended maintenance intervals.
