hi, new here, I have a 1986 volvo wagon have had her for ages, I love her, now I am being told by a ton of mechanics, that it is time to let her go, this as odd as it may sound is sad for me... she is a 1986 740 gle wagon with the 3rd seat, etc, rust underneath, on frame, told in 4 more mo when new inspection is due that she will not pass, told she is not safe to even drive. also a arm issue? not sure how much I can get for this car, and where to get another one but cheap, I live in Pa., thanks and great to be here

If the car is as bad as they say it is, I would not risk your life for it. You could definitely get another awesome RWD Volvo.

 

its a 1986 with a tad over 300,000 miles on it, now i was told it needs to be welded under car frame and it needs inner tie rods, etc, but if I junk it I get 300-400? sad, would selling for parts or to someone who can afford to fix it be more? thanks all

 

Definitely part it out if you can. You will get a lot more then 400 bucks. You can sell the parts on TurboBricks.com. They will eat it up over there.

Sorry about the demise of your Volvo. There are plenty of used ones, 850's etc. out there. You'll find a new one to fall in love with.

 

what do you all feel is a price I should ask, also now my daughter and I have a ticket/warning, was stopped by a cop saying our left tail light is out, she looked and all looks ok, anyway to see what is wrong w/out going to a mechanic and paying a ton that we dont have?? she changed the bulb, still no light then looked and its fuse was blown so we put new in and each time she ads a new fuse it burns right out
