Hi...Just purchased V70 waggon on eBay. Lovin it.
[font="Arial"]Hi all...
I have a 1999 Volvo V70 Wagon that I just purchased for $6,000 on eBay. It has 92,000 miles and I love it. I Live in Florida and it's an orginal Florida car with only one owner. I think I got a deal, but if not I still love it.
I plan to be on this forum checking up on my new toy. Next summer I plan on giving it to my 16 year old daugther to drive to school. If everything I hear is correct, it's a pretty safe car. I'd like to know good or bad about this car.
Thanks

PS...Not really crazy about the color...my brother in law said it looks like baby poop. Oh yea...he loved my volvo so much he bought one on eBay to.... 1995 Volvo Wagon. (It's white)

hello and welcome. i am a recent new member myself, i live in northern ireland, unfortunately we dont have f
lorida weather but volvos were built to withstand heat and cold. i am an old fashioned volvo driver, preferering the 240/245 /940/960 and even the 850 . having said that my wife has a 99 v70.
she really has no interest in cars, so when she asked me to help her choose a car, i took her for several
private test drives, and guess what ,she choose the v70 without knowing it was a volvo. since that day i have driven the v70 many times and cannot really fault it. ours is the 136 bph non turbo engine, great for
towing and economy. one thing i did discover is this, put your rear windows either partiallly down or all the way down and drive at 50 mph or more and you will get your ears pounded. sounds weird i know but has something to do with aerodynamics. happy motoring, fivespeed.

You bought a safe car. However be sure that the ETM has been replaced and the new software for the ETM has been installed.
Also regular maintainence will keep the car running great.
I would do an oil change, trans fluid change, really replace all the fluids with new fluids.
And I would put Mobil 1 oil in the car.

Hi Fivespeed
Thanks for replying to my post. I'm sure Northern Ireland and Florida have their unique weather that affects our Volvos. My wife also told me she would never own or drive a Volvo...especially a wagon. I surprised her with this purchase, and got one of those looks.... Needless to say, she's been driving it everyday taking the children to school and to the food market. Allthough she won't say it...I'm sure she loves it as much as I do.
I get a chance to drive it this morning and I'm going to try you 50mph sound test on the interstate.

Wow...Thanks for all that information. I am planning on bringing the car into a Swede shop here in Sarasota. I'll ask him about the ETM.
Thanks for the tip
