Red face I guess this is hello and goodbye!

I had planned to take possession of an apparently pristine 2000 V70 XC SE Wagon with just over 180K miles but the prepurchase inspection showed too much suspension work necessary to be able to reach a financially sensible deal.

If another Volvo shows up, I suppose I'll be back. Thanks for being here!

Hey There,

What needed to be done on the car? Also, how much did they want for it?

Welcome to the forum.
Keep looking. There are plenty of good used Volvo's out there.

Well, it may be back on the table.

2000 V70 XC with 181K for $2300. Lots of suspension parts have already been replaced. New tires. Body is mostly pristine with one barely noticeable exception. The black bits on the exterior are nicely faded and need reblacking. The driver's seat cushion shows significant wear but some Leatherique or a cheap replacement from Crazy Ray's (local pick and pull) would fix that.

The car drives nice and tight. I guess I don't need to worry too much about the turbo since it's made it this far.

Would the cargo cover from an '04 fit an '00?

A 2001 Lincoln Town Car is another possibility. Lower miles. I promise I'm not trolling. LOL.

^^^
Yes, I realize that I asked a tech question but I really haven't made the move yet so asking in the proper forum seems a bit premature.

The linc conti's are great, but if you're talking about suspension--with higher miles they really wallow and sag. When in a conti limo, can always tell if high miles. Don't have the problem with the volvo. Seems like a pretty good price on volvo from whay you've described. Anyway, good luck!
