Default I'm New

Just got my first Volvo. 95 850R. The guy I got it from also put in the IPD ECU, springs and front/rear sway bars. Alot of boost and quick. So far I love it, and 31mpg. Hope to learn alot here.

Welcome to the board. 31 mpg? You must be going just down hill. The best I have ever got over an extended period is about 28. Right now I'm only getting about 22 out of my 97 850 R. I just bought it recently and I'm a little unhappy with that gas mileage. Getting ready to change the O2 sensor and hope that gives some improvement. I'm keeping my foot out of it too, trying to get better mileage. Every once in a while you just have to push the peddle a little though. You need to post some pictures. Did you get yellow or black? The only colors 95 T5R's came in.

Jim, put in some Bosch single electrode platinum plugs..............gapped a bit wider than what is called for. Clean your throttle body and change to synthetic oil and you will be quite surprised at the "leap" in mileage!

All I did was change plugs, wires and oil. Castrol GTX for over 75k miles. Cleaned K&N filter and checked and adjusted tire pressure. Went 215 miles on 6.56 gal of gas.

OK. I filled up yesterday and had gone 334 miles on 10.4 gallons of gas. I'm very happy with my mileage. I have kept the switch on economy rather than sport.

I would be happy too. I have cleaned the throttle body, but it was not dirty at all. I have switched to higher octane gas, and I almost always drive on 'econ' mode. Still can't get over 22.4 mpg. I have not changed plugs or oil and have not put new O2 sensor in yet. I got it, just haven't gotten around to putting it in.
