Introduction

Hey all, my names Graham and I'm 18.

My shortened Volvo story. I'm basically the last person in the world I would think would EVER ride a volvo. But it was fate

The local GM dealership had this deal going on. They take all the used cars in the parking lot and drop the prices anywhere from $1000 to $3000. They brought in a few beater cars from other GM dealerships around BC.

The way the little contest worked was the person sitting beside the car doors at 10 am go to purchase the car at whatever price it was marked down to. So at 8pm the night before I went to the dealership and sat beside this 1985 Volvo 240 DL with 293000 kms on it. It was marked at $1995. Not even worth that much but you know how dealerships work. So my buds and I sat beside cars all night, got hammered in the parking lot and just chilled. The morning rolls around and they open up all the cars so you can sit in it, check em out, and start em up. I fired the ol Volvo up and not even a puff of smoke out the tailpipe. It was in decent shape on the inside but needed a little body work. I sit in it and wait for the dealer to come around. He walks up and asks me how long I've been there. I told him 14 hours (8 pm till 10 am) he says well that's pretty deserving and writes "$5.00" on the windshiled!!!

I'm sooooo stoked. I told him I'd take it. So I went in and purchased that car for $5.70 with tax..
