Default Introduction

So I just came across this site tonight. Looks pretty good. I first got into volvos whenI got a red 1993 Volvo 850 GLT for $250. I had so many good times and I realized I had a love of Volvos. A year and a half ago I bought my current car, and 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo.
My GLT is now sitting in the junkyard because all the problems finally caught up to it, and I had to make a finanacial decision since I no longer had the funds to keep both running and to put $2500 into it. I seriously liked it more than the turbo, just because I wasn't afraid to beat it like a beater car and do all sorts of crazy (yet non harmful to others) stunts.
The turbo is my dd so I haven't gone wild with modifiying it. I just have a mbc, trans cooler, and boost gauge for right now. I made the mistake of buying a junk mbc the first time around and spiked to 30psi, luckily the only damage was a blown headgasket, turbo, and trans.I also took a lot of the new parts off the GLT to put onit, and I took the TB and Cams for a future build. After a lot late nights of backyard mechanics I got it running perfectly in time for it to make it's daily 40 mile trec to college and back.
I plan on making a really awesome sleeper out of it withen the next couple of years after I get another car and can take the 850 off the road.

Sorry for such a long intro, but I can't wait to become more familiar with this site.

Welcome to the forum, I hope you can benefit from it.

To make your 850 run longer & happier, be sure to follow scheduled maintenance. Too many people neglect on this and their cars quit in mere 10 years. Regular fluid & filter changes and tune-ups alone can make a world of difference, and since you seem quite skilled, you can make it last a lot longer than most people's.

Good luck to you,

JPN
