Just bought a 2011 XC60 T6! Things to look for?
Hello everyone, just buy a new to myself 2011 bright red XC 60 T6! Love it! Bought it with the 104k, one owner and the car has been serviced 100% it’s whole life. I bought it from a private dealer, my question would be, I want to make sure the car is 100% before my 30 day warranty runs up. Would you recommend I bring it to the dealer to have them look at everything quickly A aftermarket vovle specialist?
Many dealers offer a "safety" inspection for $100 or so. Check their web site for a special. Plan B would be to have a local indy experienced with Volvos or euro cars to give it a similar check up. Mostly they will do things like look for leaks, brake wear, fluid color/level etc.
Congrats! We just bought a 2011 XC60 T6 61K miles, too. Ours is Bronze/brown. Yes, it's worth taking it to a Volvo mechanic to go over the car and see what it might need. Despite being garaged, one owner, well-maintained, ours still needed struts, needs alignment, and will need brakes and rotors probably early next year. Let them check for rust, too, although Volvos are heads above other makes for being rust-proof and having durable paint, it might still have issues depending on where it was driven (salted winter roads?) and flooding. We used to go to the Volvo dealership but they were expensive and twice screwed up repairs. Check out Volvo mechanics/foreign cars mechanics in your area, look up their BBB record/reviews. If the work they suggest sounds over the top, maybe post what they say here before your proceed--some mechanics aren't as honest as ours (CPL Automotive in Mt Sinai, NY--3rd generation of foreign car/Volvo shop family ownership and we've been going there for over 20 years). Good luck! Donna
