Hello, my name is Sean and I just recently purchased a new car, and I decided to make it a Volvo. I was lucky enough to find a 1997 850 T-5 with only 86,000 miles on it and in really great condition for a good price.

Before I got this car I was driving a 1994 Celica, which I had been driving for about six years. A friend of mine is a volvo enthusiast and I saw what a great community Volvo people are, so I decided to join.

I am thrilled with my new Volvo and I will see you on the forums.

It is a low mileage for an 850, great deal. Make sure to follow scheduled maintenance, especially the timing belt + pulleys + tensioner at every 70,000 miles or 5 years. Also expect to replace the entire PCV system as a kit, unless you do not see any oil seepage from the engine.

Go to the 850 forum and there are enough info tofix 90% of the problems onyour 850.

Great! Thanks for the welcomes and some maintenance tips. The engine compartment is near spotless, haven't noticed any oil leaks but I will keep an eye on that.

I'll hopefully post some pics this weekend if I can get myself out of the car
