Just sealed the deal on my 240DL
Hey everyone. You may remember I made a post not too long ago asking for suggestions on buy a 240; well I sealed the deal today on my first "real" car. It's a light blue '89 240DL, automatic, and 240k on the clock(ironic, I know). It's starting to show its age, theres a few blemishes and missing chrome moulding, but mechanically its seems like a solid car. I never realized how much room these cars have. I'm 6'0", and with the front seat all the way back I still fit comfortabley in the back. As great as this little car is though, it has its quirks:
- The AC doesnt work(I'm not sure what the problem is, but I may just remove the compressor all together)
- The radio isnt working right(Though I may just put a Blaupunkt in that I have lying around)
- The back of the drivers seat is broke. It feels like part of the metal frame fell out of place.
- The electricals a little screwy(buttons need to be pressed a few times before they work)
Overall I'm very happy with the car though. I plan on keeping it for a long time, and maybe taking it to the occasional autocross.
