Good day,
I just joined the forum yesterday due to my intention to purchase a 1990 740 turbo wagon. I will be going to see the car today. The only thing that I know about the wagon is that it has about 200k miles and is selling for about $1500 dollars.
Can anyone give me any advise on things that I should pay strict attention too. Any common problems or inperfections I should look for.
Visually the car looks good. Good tires, paint, but looks can be deceiving.
Thanks,
Geko

Good morning!
Took a test drive yesterday, the wagon is from Arizona (I am in Cleveland, GO CAVS!!!!) very clean for a 16 year old. Steering felt a little loose, but otherwise car performed well. I drove in on some pretty rough roads as well as express way including "Dead Man's Curve" eastbound, inside lane!
When I punched it I didn't feel that super rush from turbo but car pulled very strong (low end tourqe). I am accustomed to turbo blast from Saab 900SE turbo.
Engine was super clean with no signs of leaks.
What other advise can you give me?
THX,
Geko

For $1500 you shouldn't be expecting much. For that price you can't go wrong if it's running and looks half decent. Basic rule of thumb is you have to pay around $3,000 to get a car that you can truely count on. By the way GO BUCKS! I'm from Columbus, OH.
