Default Light white smoke coming from exhaust.

I have a Volvo S80 2002 non turbo. Yesterday while driving my car was making a different sound than usual while accelerating. It seemed to stop once it shifted to the next gear. When turning my car on today and going about 20 ft the car shut down and all the lights (like check engine oil etc..) came on. The car will start but it will usually die after a while but still have power. Ive noticed white smoke coming from the exhaust now, its a lighter white smoke but still smoking. It sounds a little rough while idling. Last it kept turning off but this morning it will atleast stay on but makes a clicking sound. I checked my fluids and there is oil in the car. Any ideas and help would be much appreciated. Not really a mechanic but looking for the cheapest way to get this taken care of.

Hi there!
just so you know moderators will move this thread because it doesn't belong here. This is the introduction forum. I'm new here too =)

Smoke is never good, and you say your engine is making strange noises?
How long have you had the car?
What have you changed recently on the car?
Is it leaking fluids?
Did the car ever overheat? (water mixing with oil)
Was the oil changed recently? (they might of put too much)

Did you hook up a code scanner? What does it say?
What lights are on/flashing on the dash?

What have you tried so far?

Mayday, you can go to Autozone and borrow their code reader. Do that and write down the codes, let's look 'em up and go from there.
