Liked it so much, I bought it twice.
I now have owned 2 Volvos in a row. I have never been happier with my cars. I still am bitter over a Saturn that blew a transmission, and threw a rod in under 70,000 miles, and still owing the bank payments for 3 more years. So having not just one, but 2 cars purchased with over 100,000 miles run twice as good as any other car I have owned is a real comfort.
I currently own a 1987 740 turbo. I bought as a beater from a friend for 700 dollars. I never really took care of it thinking it would drive until something went really wrong, and that day never came. So, now I regret not waxing it every weekend, and babying the engine like it was a brand new car. so, that car is a little more far gone...but considering I drove it for 3 years without dropping a single penny into it... I can attest to Volvo's quality. I have hopes of spending some time with it as a project car, and see what I can't do to make up for for 3 years of neglect. That car owes me nothing.
My newer Volvo is a 1995 850 turbo. with my last experience with a Volvo being so positive, even know I was just downright neglectful to the poor thing, I have been going the extra mile with the new car. I know that if I take even remotely good car of this car, it will drive just as good for 20 more years. It has once again become my favorite car. You will find me waxing it on the weekends, and neurotically checking the dipstick.
Nice to see you all here!
