Hello,
I'm a new member and I'm planning to buy an Volvo 850. What are the things that should be watched for on these cars during an inpection? I know these cars may have somewhere in the range of about 80,000 to 140,000 miles on them. Thinking about a 93 - 96 model year range.

I am a truely devoted 850 volvo lover , I am driving my third and although its the oldest one I have owned its the best by far . The things to watch for are the leaks .. oil and tranny leaks are fixable and depending on the car you purchase it isnt such a bad Idea to purchase an older model with a few leaks for cheaper and put the money into it ..( have it looked at by a VOLVO mechanic and get an estimate before you take the chance ). and something I have found is that even the mileage doesnt matter as much as the care the car was given , you can have an 850 with 60,000 k on it and still have the same leaks as a 182,000 k car . I love the way they drive and I think they are the last of the TRUE swedish volvo at its best . ( all volvos after 2000 are ford built )
