I am a newb to the forum and in the market for a 07-09 XC90.
I drove a low miles '06 T6 and I was hooked, but we couldn't get right on the price.

Found some from 50k to 90k, How are they holding up.

I have heard horror storries on the trannys... ?

Welcome to the forum. I think the transmission problems were with earlier models.

 

This is true, the newer ones are a lot better then the first couple years. As long as they were well maintained, you should be ok.

 

I am new to the forum also. My wifes dreamcar the Volvo XC90! We found a 2004,used. She loves it. I love it. But, the tranny has been replaced, the cv joints have been replaced, today I am replacing the blower motor resistor,due to the blower motor not stopping when the keys are out of the ignition. And the reduced engine performance light is on, brought it to the dealer and they said the throttle body is bad. 500$ just for the part. But other than that, we love it. Its a great car if it was taken care of. Do your research on any vehicle you are going to purchase. Good luck!
