Hi everyone, I'm on the market for a new motor and want to buy a Volvo, I really like the look of the V50's as they're pretty sporty and have plenty of room. I'm currently driving a Seat Ibiza pd130, the engines bulletproof but nothing else is and it's just too small now.

I need something with enough space to carry the dog and camping / fishing gear so it has to be an estate but not necessarily a v50.

I've read mixed reviews about the engines in these cars some swear by them, others scream avoid, so I'd like some opinions from genuine enthusiasts and owners.

I'd like a 2.0 diesel as that's what I've got now, but would consider bigger, my main concern is reliability, can someone shed some light on which is most reliable? Also, is there anything specific to be looking out for when buying?

I appreciate any and all opinions, my track record on buying sheds is embarrassingly good so I'm doing my research this time with open ears (and eyes).
