Minor front end 'clunk' only when accelerating quickly - '15 V60 T6 R-Design Plat.
I recently (two weeks ago) bought a 2015 V60 T6 AWD R-Design Platinum (what a mouthful) 64k miles. Car was previously owned by a Dr. and meticulously maintained with oil changes every 4k miles using Liqui Moly synthetic oil etc. Unfortunately it was not as meticulously maintained cosmetically... but still looks classy. Overall, seems to be solid car and runs like a banshee. WOW! I thought the wife's S60 T6 and my old S80 T6 were fast. Anyways, to the point: I recently started noticing a single clunk upon a hard acceleration from a stop sign or a red light. It's not loud - only comes from the front end - and primarily favors the driver's side. Is this a motor mount? Perhaps something in the suspension? The only other noise I can think of is when I'm stopped and in Park and turn the steering wheel left 90 degrees and back to 12 and to the right 90 degrees I can feel/hear a little single clunk in the wheel - again sound is not loud and comes from the front driver's side.
clunks can come from a number of places - suspension bushings, strut mount/bearing, sway bar/end links, motor mounts/torque rods, axles, brake calipers, etc.
Considering the car is new to you, you'd probably want to have the car put up on a list and have a full inspection done for suspension, brakes etc.
You can do your own test for motor mounts by having a helper put the car into drive/reverse (with the brakes on fully) to see if the motor moves noticeably when engaged. The sound when turning brings into play the tie rod ends and steering rack so while on the lift your tech can see if there's no loose bolts or bushings securing those parts.

I appreciate the quick reply! Last Wednesday, I had the car up on a lift for an alignment - which never happened as the shop's machine broke. However they checked everything out and advised the front end was tight and looked good - the suspension/brakes/calipers/rotors were all healthy and no leaks anywhere. The guy was actually surprised the specs on the alignment were rather close to factory. They ended up doing a four tire balance and rotation and that fixed my slight drift to the left and minor shake - they believe the minor shake was coming from a front wheel that had been spot welded from what looked like a direct hit to a pot hole. I was going to have the dealership do a factory service but that was going to be $600 so I said no thanks. Might just have them do a quick VSI.
I just wrote a lengthy post about my current problem. I too had a clunk in the front end and brought the car for an alignment. They confirmed everything was tight and in good condition. One week later, failure of the ball joint/control arm and cv axle. I am looking at having to replace tie rods, control arm, cv axle, plus everything that was destroyed when the wheel was pushed into the wheel well. DO NOT put it off. Have someone that knows Volvo check it out.
