Default On my 3rd 240 Sta. Wagon

I think first was tired '78, Diesel, talk about smoke, then 2 '88's. First 2 automatics, now a 5 speed. It gets real decent mileage. Good all around dependable cars. Lots of room for my crap -- junk dealer of sorts. The large, flat space comes in handy a lot. Painted in the back windows on the first gold colored '88 with brown poster paint. Looked kind of cool actually. Slept/lived in it for a spell. 240 DL have no frills basically, lousy radios, lucky to get front power windows on last '88. Electric locks are nice. In all 3 cars, the heater seats were always broken, wiring in rear deck for safety stop light and rear wiper always pinched in the hinges. Air conditioners no good, heaters were great. So strong I could dry my long hair with them, after showering at the gym. In fact, heater was determining factor for buying the old smoker as it was winter in Santa Fe. (Parked VW bus for awhile with NO heater) Never got one with roof rack so had to borrow one from the VW. Hate blue cars, especially blue interiors but it's what I've got now! Has just 135,000 on it. I like old back roads though (photographer too) so next or second car will have to be VW van again! Let's hear it anyway for German and Swedish mechanics. No thanks Japan !

Blue interiors will die! Glad we have so much in common. So you must be an expert on these series huh?

Gosh I wonder what happened to the thread I started a month ago under the 240 section.. It's disappeared! Questions about the drivers door lock. The plastic electric thingie that snaps around the key unit. I cant seem to position it right to snap it closed. Any ideas here friends? Any photos anywhere? I seem to recall when I unsnapped it the plastic band met about 4:00 oclock. I dunno.I have big hands and its a b---- to work in there and no one to hold the flashlight!

I guess I'll give up here. No responses for my problem since 8/1. Phooey.
