Red face My first call for help about shift lever moving freely

Hi, I am Carlos and joined the forum last november and enjoy reading all the posts.
I own a 2006 XC70 Ocean Race and I am very happy with it.

I have a question hoping your help and very thankful you do.

I do not know when it started but I just realized I can move my shift lever freely (I don't need to press the lock release button in the ****) between any position (Including D to N and to R !!!! dangerous) once the key is in the on position.

If the car is off and no key, the shift lever is stuck in P, but once I turn the key to the I or II position, the lever moves out of P and freely.

My gearbox is a Geartronic (it has the Manual Position options) so there is a danger I push the lever forward when in D thinking I am shifting manually and push it to R instead!!!!

Thanks a lot for all your help on time

Carlos

It is so frustrating to see lot of people NOT willing to help, because I assume you have the knowledge, or may be you don't

I already solved my issue
