My First Volvo...a wagon fan
I just purchased my first Volvo, a 2001 V70 2.4m with the 5 spd auto. So far so good with the car...I must say I have my concerns after reading the myriad reports of tranny failures and other issues. I do know these cars can be very reliable and last a LONG time, so I'm crossing my fingers that I bought a good one.
That said, I love to drive this car, and couldn't be more pleased with its level of comfort, its fuel economy (got 35-36mpg average on the interstate at 75mph!) and its handling.
I like to get to "know" my cars and I tend to keep them for a long time if they are good to me. My last actual car (I am coming from a 2007 Tundra) was a '94 subaru legacy wagon that I owned for ten years and put 150k miles on. Sold it with 260k. I hope to iron out any lingering issues with my V70 so I can trust it to not let me down, like I could my subaru. I hope this forum is good place to get info regarding various details on this car.
I live in Mount Vernon, WA, have 3 kids, and own both a 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser and a 2007 toyota tundra. I hope the volvo is as good to me as the toyotas have been.
