thanks u think 6 grand was a fair price? the seller wouldnt budge but i fell in love first time i seen it. i was driving a vw corrado g60 and i like that car but the volvo is just crushing it in every aspect. only thing im thinking of doing is upgrading the turbo in the spring as im sure my stock one might be getting a little tired. if i do get a upgraded turbo will my ecu need upgrading? thanks for any answers in advance.

 

If you go to a Bigger one it would be best to get the upgrade in the end you will get the best out of the turbo that way.

I think that was a pretty good price.

 

What are you going to upgrade to? And yes to get the most out of a new turbo an ECU upgrade will be needed.

i was looking at the 16t at viva seems like a fair price but i havent done the homework yet to realy pin down the one that will best fit my needs i dont race the car and dont plan on it.but i like to push it when the chance arives.i drive 60 mileseach way all highway to work and i would love to get the perfect turbo for that type of drive and not worry about any internals needed to be upgraded as of yet.

 

Your car already has the 16T FYI. That is the stock turbo on the 1998 s70T5.

 

wow there goes my street cred haha. the guy i got the car said it was a 12t is there even a such thing as a 12t and what would be the next upgrade for it if mine is already the 16?

 

Whoever you bought it from is wrong. They don't know jack crap about the car they put so much time and effort into.

Yes there is a 12t and if it has that installed I'd be very surprised if it is anything smaller then the OEM 16T that is supposed to be on there I'd be surprised.

The next step up is the 18T and 19T models or something else all together, but your getting into wanting to do internal upgrades on the engine to support the bigger turbo's power output. And of course with a bigger turbo your going to want an ECU upgrade.
