New 850 owner
Hi all, finally joined the Volvo owners club. Bought a 93 850 sedan from the second owner I think. It has just over 171000 km on it. Is in good shape over all with a few little problems. The seat back motor will not lift up any more. Some trim issues and tires. I think I can handle it. Just need to look up some threads on the seat and all will be good.
Bought it for my Girlfriend who's Taurus wagon is an electrical nightmare. We laughed when the PO said he cut the wires to the antenna because it would not stop going up and down. Then the mirrors would only work the door locks, the wipers opened the windows, but only twice (have to be fair). The door locks cycled ALL DAY LONG when it was below freezing.
The final straw was the head lights stayed on with the car off and I had to install a battery disconnect to make sure they turned off each time. That also frazzled the tail lights which are somewhat important if you also have no brake lights.
I hate electrical issues.
Anyhow looking forward to having a car that has a good reputation.

Hi Catimann welcome to the forum. I bought my 93 850 just over a year ago with similar Ks. This site has been a constant inspiration for me to keep restoring it to it's original glory. I was a bit dissapointed that i didn't buy a later model, as there are more interchangable parts for those but now I love having something that is just that little bit different. Hope you get the support you need for your baby.
