Default new to the forum, not to the car.

Hi, my name is Maeghan. I've been driving Volvo for four years now, and I've been helping my father work on them for years. I'm in my second 240, because my first one got rear-ended by some moron in a Plymouth something-van doing 45. While I was stopped at a red light. Anyway, if you're familiar with the Hampton Roads area, my father owns Eurotech Autowerks.

Yeah, it was a massive heartbreak. She was the first car I ever built. But happy ending - my dad put me in a manual 240. Same year. I must say I'm much happier with the manual.

OOOHH...Yeah...A 240 manual. What model was it 242, 242 turbo,242 GT, 244, 244 turbo???? And what is your current model?

What do you mean by built? Big turbo, forged internals, aftermarket EMC [sm=drooldude.gif]? Engine rebuild?

haha, i must not be deep enough into volvo culture to know all that terminology, im just used to being under the hood with my dad.
the one i have now was born august 88.
and the old one that i "built" i bought the body for like 200 bucks and my dad helped me fix it up to running order. it was my first car. just little things like new starter, new battery, water pump and stuff. along with various cosmetic stuff. dad put me up in another 240 so i could just exchange parts from my wrecked car. like, a week after i got the manual, the wiper motor went out. so i just nabbed the one off the automatic. i will say, the manual has me wanting to never go back to an automatic.
you should be nice and school me on what i can do to make my new baby better. cause people around town arent happy with my low-performance tranny and my slow acceleration.

Cool so it was resto...Awsome

I Have always wanted to resto a car....Start a new thread in the 240 section and we can talk....but I am still learning this stuff too.

I would also check out turbobricks.com, but please dont leave this site...That site has some really sweet 240s and really crazy builds.
Like this one. It is one of my favorite builds.<<<11.8 1/4mile.
Or this one.<<<500hp monster
