New Guy on the V block
Hello good people,
I recently purchased my first Volvo, a 94 850 Turbo. I come from the VW/Audi family so this is a new world to me. My parents had a few Volvo's when i was a kid, and my dad currently has a 04 S40 (w/ blown head gasket
)
Any-who, This car was not my first choice, but it was calling my name since i first saw it for sale in January. I live next door to a Volvo mechanic shop here in L.A. The car had been sitting in the parking lot with a "for sale" and i thought i would give it a test drive. It drove nice, had minor imperfections(ABS & TRACS light on), but overall not bad. after a few more days of car shopping, I decided to pull the trigger. The owner of the shop was asking $3k, we settled on $2k. The car is bone stock, 120k, great paint and interior, tires are OK, and according to the mechanic he has serviced it for a number of years. So far the car has been good, although i think its time to replace my fuel pump relay because it is stalling out, and having a hard time starting up again. I did replace the fuel filter and its still doing it. hopefully its not the fuel pump. I plan to do the full tune up soon. Any advice, tips, tricks, things to look out for, would be much appreciated!!!
I would like to thank all of you in advanced for all the great info already compiled here. Thanks to rspi for his videos.
This is going to be a fun adventure, and i appreciate all you guys and gals for being here.

Welcome to the forum.
It's best to post your problems or questions independently. The ABS seperate from the tune-Up, from the stalling out.
It's just easier for us to follow so we're not going back and forth in the same thread trying to figure out who's saying what about which problem
