Hi everyone, just bought my first 240. First time joining a forum. I may have 1 question tho, maybe 2. First one is why do parts stores have trouble finding my car. I have an 89 240 dl. Based on my vin but parts stores say I have an 90 240 dl. And second why do I always have a choke light on my dash. Think it's a choke. A dot with slanted line going through it with verticle line on each side. What's up?

 

SQ, welcome to Volvo Forums. There are a number of Volvo friendly online parts stores. I've used FCP Euro, EEuroparts, IPD USA, Tasca Parts (dealer parts), AZ Autohaus just to name a few reliable sources. Depending on the part itself there may be breaks where a part number changed mid model year so the search may need to know the serial number. Plenty of VIN decoder apps online, including the one on this board (under the "tools" menu pulldown). You can also find most owners manuals online to find a dash light layout. Last tip is to post your questions in the vehicle specific forum - that will get you the most views by people who have experience with your specific model.
