Default new and lookin for a volvo...

Hey everybody, im 16 and am being forced to buy a volvo by my mom because they are so safe. At first i was pissed but then i realized that the s70 t5 was much faster than i thought it was. Im looking to spend around 10k and was wondering what are the top two or three fastest volvos (1996-1998). Also, if it comes in a manual that would be awesome. thanks for your help!

Try to find an 850R or a 98 S70R they are the fastest of the volvo models.Dont go any higher than 98 model year in 99 the went to an electronic throttle module which over times is a problem. The 850R and 98 S70R can also be modified pretty good so that would be your best bet. Hope this helps.

Tis a pitty you live in the states otherwise you could try to get your hands on an ex UK police T5 in either 740 or V70 form. One recently was sold pushing out close to 300BHP. It's no wonder that most UK drivers dread the sight of a T5 because you just don't outrun one.

At 16 however you wouldn't be driving over here and as for trying to afford the insurance I do hope your daddy owns a large software company!

One more thing when you are looking DO NOT look at the C70 they had many problems with the window regulators and a pain in the a** to fix so steer clear of them.

Nice, and without too much modification they are good for 150MPH+. Hampshire constabulary gave me a demonstration of just how quick they are one day (well 2am actually) [:@]
