Default new mass airflow sensor has no cold idle

Hello all ,new member. I recently purchased a 06 S80 and fixed all things that had snowballed over time. Just recently the MAF sensor went bad, towed it home then realized i could have disconnected it and car would have ran.to get it home. Anyway i installed a new aftermarket MAF sensor and noticed there is no cold idle when first starting car so i am ordering a used OEM part to see if that one will work properly. Already disconnected battery .I think aftermarket sensor does not perform correctly. Pease Advise Thank you!

what happens if you put the old MAF sensor back in? What was your reason for replacing the MAF in the first place (ie CEL codes, testing or a guess at the root cause)? The early 2000s Volvos are known for having issues with the ETM. Check out Xemodex for some insights into symptoms and fixes

Car started to stall then after a few days it crapped out. So I ordered aftermarket part. At first the car would not start so I disconnected connection to maf sensor and car idled at 800. My original sensor the car would idle around 1100 warm and drop to 800 at normal idle. The original seemed to respond better when it worked. waiting for a donor part. Thanks for feedback!

yeah not all after market MAFs are a direct replacement even if they are listed as such.
