Just joined after lurking for months. I have owned four or five122 sedans or wagons since the 1970's. I absolutely love those carbs. I have had one 240 sedan which unfortunately got totaled. Two years ago, I became the owner of a 1991 turbo Estate wagon. It had 90 k miles when I got it. I have had expected issues like front rotors and oil leaks. But recently have had some electrical issues. No brake lights (I gave up and took it to my mechanic who loves these cars). Now there is hard starting and I have dug into the dash to find the fuel pump relay. Volvo electric are new to me. I have owned British Leland vehicles with Lucan electrics so I am aware of the reputation that Lucas electrics have. Are these 90's cars known to have electrical issues? Are there fiche files with relevant schematics somewhere?
This is my daily driver/utility vehicle. It still looks great but has been used as a truck in the past.
Glad to find you and I will go forward into the darkness of the Volvo dashboard.

Thank you Mathieu,
I just finished replacing the fuel pump relay on the '91 940. It had been hard starting for months. Started right up this afternoon.
It is very satisfying to fix these cars.
